On the day
Read our step-by-step guide below for instructions, and everything you need to know about your graduation day.
Timings – registration by surname will be from 09:30 in the Library. Your allocated time slot will be confirmed closer to the ceremony date.
On arrival at the venue, please make your way up the short set of stairs where you will be guided to registration. Please ensure you follow the one-way system in place and direct yourself to the desk where registration will take place in an alphabetical method by surname. Please have your confirmation email ready to show the registration desk where you will be given:
• Your registration card, which will state your allocated seat number for the ceremony. Please keep this card with you throughout the event and ensure you sit in the seat allocated – this is essential so that your name is called out at the correct time.
• Please note, guests will be seated in a different area to graduates and that there are no specific seat numbers for guests.
• Your Graduation Ceremony brochure.
Please collect your robe from Ede & Ravenscroft in the Aldersgate on the lower ground floor. There will be a one-way system to guide you to this area. We ask that only graduates enter the robing area itself to avoid any high traffic.
After collecting your robe, if you would like an official photograph, proceed with your guests to the Ede & Ravenscroft photographer who will be located adjacent to the robing area.
• The Great Hall doors open at 12:00. Please make your way to the hall on the first floor for seating and have your registration card ready to show the stewards. You will be guided to your allocated seat and your guests to the relevant area.
• Ensure that your seat number matches the number on your ticket.
• Please be seated by 12:15 – you are required to wear your robe and mortarboard hat throughout the Graduation Ceremony.
• You must remain in the Great Hall until the ceremony ends. Expected finishing time is between 13:30 and 14:00.
• Depending on the qualification you have passed, in surname alphabetical order, the stewards will ask you to create a queue in preparation for you being called onto the stage. You will then need to return to your allocated seat.
All hired robes must be returned to Ede & Ravenscroft by 15:00.
We hope you will have enjoyed your Graduation Ceremony and wish you all the best for your future marketing career.
